The Mid-Carolina Camellia Society is a club whose mission is “…to inspire, promote, and develop an interest in Camellias.”. We are organized and meet in Columbia SC, with members that reside all over the state of SC.

First organized in 1955 as The Men’s Camellia Club of Columbia, the club has a rich history of camellia shows and providing education about growing and caring for camellias.

The Mid-Carolina Camellia Society is a member of the American Camellia Society, the Atlantic Coast Camellia Society, and the Garden Club Council of Greater Columbia.

The club stages an ACS cooperative show which is hosted by the SC State Fair in October each year. The show is held in the Cantey building, along with the art and other plant competitions. The show starts on the last Friday of the fair with judging and presenting awards. The show is open to the public once judging is complete on Friday and is available through the following Sunday.

Club meetings are held at the Garden Club Council of Greater Columbia building at 1605 Park Circle in Columbia. The regular meetings are usually on the first Tuesday of the month, August thru April.

Regular monthly meetings are centered around club business and education about the care of camellias, including varying topics and speakers. Dues for the club are $20 per person, with the membership year from July through June.
